Enrique Zamora, Esq.

Enrique is a founding partner of Zamora, Hillman & Villavicencio with over 28 years of legal experience in the areas of probate, guardianship, trust, estate planning and elder law. He is a Florida Bar Board-Certified Elder Law attorney and former chair of the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar. Enrique is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Mediator. After obtaining his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (1971) from the University of Florida, a Master of Business Administration (1975) and Master of Science in Management in the fields of Accounting and Taxation (1981) from Florida International University, Enrique obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1985.

His professional memberships include the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar, the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, Dade County Bar Association, and Cuban American Bar Association. He is a former Board Director of the Florida State Guardianship Association, former President of the South Florida Guardianship Association, former Chair of the Probate & Guardianship Committee of the Dade County Bar Association and former Chair of the Grievance Committee for the Eleventh "D" of The Florida Bar.

In addition to his practice, Enrique serves as Special Master for the City of Miami Beach and as Court Appointed Attorney-Ad-Litem for Cuban National Heirs, 11th Judicial Circuit of the State of Florida, Dade County, Probate Division. He acts as Special Magistrate over Baker Act proceedings & Marchman Act proceedings. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at St. Thomas University, School of Law since 2004 where he teaches Elder Law and Guardianship Law courses. He previously served as Lead Instructor and Planning Committee Chair for the Professional Guardianship Program at Miami Dade College, as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at the University of Miami School of Continuing Studies, as well as, Professor of Paralegal Program at Florida National College.

Enrique is the recipient of numerous awards including: the Pro Bono Award from the Dade County Bar Association and the 11th Judicial Circuit (2008) for Guardianship; a Certificate of Appreciation from The Florida State Guardianship Association (2003) for services rendered to the F.S.G.A. Board of Directors; the Dade County Bar Association Award (1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002) for exceptional service as Chair of the Probate & Guardianship Committee; the Outstanding Legal Service Award from the Association for Retarded Citizens, South Florida (1999)or his efforts on behalf of persons with Mental Retardation and other Developmental Disabilities.

Louis M. Hillman-Waller, Esq.

Louis is a founding partner of Zamora, Hillman & Villavicencio with over 28 years of legal experience. He obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Miami, magna cum laude, in 1982 and his Juris Doctor in 1985 from the University of Miami School of Law. His areas of concentration are in Probate, Guardianship and Trust law with an emphasis on litigation. He is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Mediator, having conducted between over 250 mediations in all types of civil matters in both the English and Spanish languages.

His professional memberships include the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar, the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, and the Cuban American Bar Association and the South Florida Mediator's Society. He has served as a former member of the Grievance Committee of the Florida Bar, Eleventh Judicial Circuit. He is admitted to the Trial Bar for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Louis is the recipient of the Meritorious Public Service Award from the Florida Bar (2005) and was awarded an AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rating, the highest rating afforded an attorney, from Martindale-Hubbell.

Stephanie Villavicencio, Esq.

Stephanie is a partner at the firm of Zamora, Hillman & Villavicencio. Her practice is dedicated to probate, guardianship and estate planning. Stephanie is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar where she serves as the Chair of the Mentoring Committee and former Editor of the section's magazine, Elder Law Advocate. She is also a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar and recipient of the section's fellowship program for years 2016-2018.

As an adjunct professor, Stephanie teaches courses at the Law Center of Miami Dade College in the areas of Wills, Trusts and Estates, Legal Writing and Trial Preparation. She has authored publications with the Florida Bar Journal ("Adoption of Daubert in the Amendment to F.S. §90.702 Tightens Rules for Admissibility of Expert Witness Testimony" 88-OCT Fla. B.J. 38), the Elder Law Advocate ("The right to bear arms as a removable right in incapacity proceedings" Vol. XIX, No. 1, Spring 2011), and the St. Thomas Law Review ("Standards and Basic Principles of Examining and Evaluating Capacity in Guardianship Proceedings", 26 St. Thomas L. Rev. 64 (Fall 2013)). Her other professional memberships include the American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association and Cuban American Bar Association.

Yaniel Miguel Cantelar, Esq.

Yaniel is an associate attorney with the firm of Zamora, Hillman & Villavicencio. His practice focuses on elder law, with an emphasis on the areas of probate and guardianship administration. He received his bachelor's degree from Florida International University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While at the University of Florida, he served on the board of the university's chapter of the Cuban American Bar Association.

Yaniel co-authored a publication for The Elder Law Advocate, Vol. XXIII, No. 1, Spring 2016 titled "The right to counsel – An inalienable right in incapacity proceeding" and co-authored an article for the 2015 Guardianship Intensive Program hosted by the Elder Section of the Florida Bar titled "The Incapacity Process and Fundamental Rights of the Alleged Incapacitated Person."

Enrique David Zamora, Esq.

Enrique is a senior associate attorney whose practice focuses on litigating and administering guardianships and trusts, as well as estate planning. Enrique has developed expertise in administering complex, high-value estates from start to finish. He has represented personal representatives throughout Florida and has facilitated distribution of estate assets to heirs located in the United States and Latin America. Enrique also represents Cuban heirs of domestic estates and helps them comply with the Office of Foreign Asset Control regulations to facilitate receipt of inheritances to the heirs in Cuba. With respect to guardianships, Enrique has represented incapacitated persons and their caregivers to assist them with various financial matters, such as establishing payment plans for long-term care and preparing and submitting all court-required accountings. With a background in finance, Enrique is knowledgeable of, and sensitive to, his clients’ needs to conserve estate or guardianship assets and to reduce tax liability.

Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Enrique worked as an associate in the complex commercial litigation and probate litigation divisions of a large Florida law firm. He represented businesses and professionals in a variety of disputes, including those arising from breaches of contracts, breaches of fiduciary duty, and will contests (including claims of undue influence, improper execution, and lack of testamentary capacity). Enrique also assisted clients with determining homestead exemption eligibility.
